YU Onsen & Spa is the first private onsen in the Northeastern region of Thailand, offering a Japanese-style mineral bath experience under the concept “Be YU-niquely You.” The name YU signifies both “hot water” and “you,” reflecting our commitment to providing tailored massage and spa experiences carefully selected and customized to suit you.
We designed YU as a private onsen to cater specifically to “you,” with an understanding of Thai culture and the close-knit communities of the Northeast, where familiarity and sometimes shyness are common. Shippo – Derived from nature, a symbol of balance
YU Onsen & Spa is decorated in a minimalist, soothing style inspired by authentic Japanese interior design. From the moment you step inside, you’ll feel transported to Japan, experiencing tranquility and relaxation. This atmosphere is achieved through the use of wooden furniture, geometric shapes such as squares and circles, and distinctive Japanese patterns like “Shippo.”
Shippo is a common pattern in Japan, created by overlapping circles of equal size, resembling the dispersion of light or the petals of a flower. This pattern has been widespread since the Edo period and is believed by some to symbolize the “Seven Treasures” in Buddhist philosophy, signifying heavenly treasures. In addition to its association with balance, Shippo also represents harmony and good relationships.
Sustainability – from Foundations to Products
At YU Onsen & Spa, we prioritize sustainability in both our products and services. We use organic products sourced from nature, such as organic bath powders and massage oils made from pure essential oils. These products are developed in our own manufacturing facility, which adheres to standards set by FDA. The facility is overseen by a pharmacist owner who brings expertise from formulation to product testing, ensuring they are suitable for all genders, ages, and sensitive skin types. Our products not only nurture and soothe the skin but also provide natural fragrances, free from undesirable chemical additives.
